The makeup part, well, I’ve been postponing, mainly because I knew it would turn out like this:
Woo hoo! I’m sporting some serious cadaver like makeup! The amount of glitter, purple eye shadow and Miss Texas Pink lipstick is crazy here.
This was a 2 hour process, during which Sugar was happier than ever. She could have done this all day long. ALL DAY.
The easy part was, I just sort of lounged on the couch and let her do her thing. Her touch was fairly gentle, so I could kind of pretend I was at a real spa, having wonderful things done to me. But then Shawn would look over every now and again, like during a commercial, and say: “OH…..MY……GOSH!!……………WHAT ARE YOU DOING SUGAR?” And I would have to ignore him.
I should have paid more attention, because while I tried desperately to tune out all reality, some of this was happening:
It went on Luke, too, but he ran out when the camera came by him.
Then Sugar moved on to herself.
Not quite satisfied, she wanted a larger canvas. I knew where I could find one of those:
By then there was sliver glitter on the couch, on the kids and GASP!! on Shawn. I was ready for a shower, as my face felt like it was cracking and mummifying by the second under all the powder and eye shadow. There really weren’t any more fun body parts to put makeup on, anyway.
How could I deny her so much fun, with such little work from me? I needed a shower anyway. And the best part? She used up all of her Barbie makeup, so there doesn’t need to be a next time for a long, long time.
you are a SHOE in for mother of the year this year! This is hilarious. This looks like the perfect Sunday afternoon.
ReplyDeleteThe pink lipstick'd belly shot would have made a GREAT "Guess who's having a baby girl!"
This is so funny! What is it with girls and make up?! You are such a GREAT mom to let her do this. I bet Sugar is excited to put some makeup on her new baby sister:).
