LOWS:
Went to all the trouble to sign Brooke up for dance, get her new shoes, tights and a bag, then forgot to take her to the class.
Flying out to Orange County for a work function for Shawn...and as usual, we were late. We had to catch a later flight, which routed us through Vegas, and we arrived at the hotel with 15 minutes to spare before a Black Tie event.
Stuffed myself to sickness at the Black Tie Event. Paid for that with 2 days of serious heartburn and misery.
While at the OB's office, found out they lost my blood from the last time and that he wants my blood drawn every 2 weeks now that I'm at the end (because I have a blood disorder that may or may not present itself and harm the baby). But they lost the last sample? And the phlebotimist hurts me every time, no matter what, and my bruise from 2 weeks ago hadn't gone away yet?
Plus, found out that I had gained 4 pounds in 2 weeks. I am not swollen, and this was pre-party face stuffing. I hadn't eaten dinner about 4 times that week because I was feeling sick, in fact haven't really been eating much, and I gained 4 pounds? This stage of my pregnancy I always start losing weight, so that hideous number on the scale freaked me out.
I got sick Friday night and pretty much couldn't get off the couch. I have hit my pregnancy wall.
Shawn told me that he wont even talk houses, moving, locations, schools or anything until after I have the baby. I think this is totally lame. He said I'm borrowing trouble, we can't do anything about it in February anyhow due to his working extra days and hours because of a remodel, and that I just need to concentrate on having a baby. No, I need a distraction from thinking about having a baby!
Every night I make a prediction with Shawn about which child will climb in bed with me first. I've been pretty spot on lately that it goes Luke, then Sugar, and I was thrown for a a curve ball when I woke up with Seth's face an inch from mine on Thursday night.
HIGHS:
A quick trip just Shawn and I in a posh hotel, with really good food and the perfect beach view.
Saw a really nice show of whales swimming south while at the beach. What amazing creatures.
My Mom flew into town to hold down the fort for me while Shawn and I left. She was all alone, and so I know it was a big deal to do what I do, all alone. She stayed an extra day so I could go to the Dentist and get some last minute baby items. We went to Cafe Rio, where I discovered they have that soft pebble ice that you can chew and it wont break your teeth!
I did not have any cavities!
Shawn came home in time to take the kids to a school dance on Friday when I was sick, so he saved the day. I was feeling really bad that I couldn't get up and take them, and they were all sad that they might have to stay home. Fortunately, it all turned out, and they had a fun time at the dance.
On Saturday I was feeling fairly alive, so we went out with some friends and saw a movie. I was very careful with what I ate.
Sunday I taught Sugar's class in Primary and it was nice to be back in Primary. This small primary has such a different feel than our large one in Phoenix. The kids were so sweet...other than my little Sugar who was out of control. A little boy was visiting, and as soon as he sat down next to me he asked me: "Hey, teacher, do you like my hair? It's called a faux-hawk.". It was pretty cool.
Seth had to give a talk in Primary (I missed it since I was in class when he was in Sharing Time). It was on Choice, and he ended up writing it all by himself! Shawn said he did a great job. Now to get the kids to memorize those talks so they don't read them!
I have a really nice Monday morning routine: I set up a train track with Luke, build about 4 tall block towers, then sit down to watch the latest "Downton Abbey". That's a wonderful 45 minutes.
One week closer to being pregnancy free...

ReplyDeleteare you saying you had to get all fancy schmancy in 15 MINUTES?!?!?!?! impressive!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are at the "Stick a fork in me I am DONE" stage of the pregnancy.
I feel your pain--Jon is the SAME WAY about future things like housing. We are seriously thinking about moving to RSM (I am constantly checking rental homes and homes to purchase) & Jon is like "Um let's just wait till summer to do all that mumbo jumbo"--men.
Maybe you should just get a blow up mattress on your floor and have the kiddo's sleep there? Or set up bedding already on the floor--my friend did that--no joke all four of her kids would start in their beds and then end up on her floor. She said it TOTALLY was nice becuz she didnt wake up from them or have kiddos actually IN her bed. OR you could just get a twin mattress for yourself and they can all just sleep with shawn--either way you come out the winner!
Jon went to dentist after 16 years of us being married--ONE cavity--HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN!? so not fair.
My laptop has been used for work down here in the office--i swear i have like 2 weeks worth of all my nonsense trashy shows to catch up on!!!
sorry I was originally logged in as Jon-then I posted and had to delete and log in as me--
