Lows:
I am definitely getting sick. Staying up until 12 every night is simply dumb on my part.
Packing and filling the car for the ride home. It always seems so much harder to pack to come home, than to pack to go somewhere.
The kids were on the computer all the time at my parents house. They have this great backyard, yet I have to threaten them to get out there. I really hate parenting in the era of all this technology.
Heartburn.
McAffee family picture drama. You can read about it one day when I write my book--when the guilty parties are all dead and can't get mad at me.
The fact that we cannot agree on a name for the baby is starting to really give me anxiety. We have only once had a baby named before the birth--Seth--so I should be used to this. But I'm not liking any girls names anymore, which makes me think it is a sign that I will actually have a boy. That would be fine, because he'll be Sam or Jake, and either of those I really, really like. And a wrong ultrasound wouldn't surprise me.
HIGHS:
Saw every member of the family on both sides.
Had a day at the beach.
Had a day at the park with my pal Christy.
Had a full day with Brett and Lisa and company, including new dog.
Got my hair done.
Went on a date to the movies with Shawn.
Had a fun game night New Year's Eve with the kids. Taught them how to play "Clue" and watched "2012"--Shawn has Cole convinced that the Apocalypse will happen this 12-21, and I told them both they are idiots.
The car ride was easy-peasy, finally. Everyone slept for about 2 hours, except for me, who is the designated driver for eternity. I don't sleep in cars or planes, so I might as well do it. Plus, I got to listen to my favorite zumba music with earphones that I finally brought along for the drive. Shawn looked at the ipod once and asked: "What kind of music is from some guy named Pitbull?" Good dance music, that's what.
I get to sleep in my own bed tonight. That's always the best part about coming home.

we have the same computer at grandma's house problem as well. Jons parents just bought a cabin in Lake Arrowhead and proposed the idea of "no computers at the cabin? Or what do you guys think? I know it's a different generation & maybe something I need to view differently." --so we shall see. We said for sure no computers, but adults HAVE to be able to bring laptops and the kids can have the Wii.
